March 2024 PRS Retreat

This retreat has been specifically designed to equip and encourage key leaders from our partner organizations to better implement and multiply the Public Reading of Scripture and Just Show Up Book clubs. We hope our partners will journey with us to become PRS teaching and training centers. During the retreat, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their theological and historical understanding of this biblical practice and hear from our senior leaders about the purpose of our deep conviction. Practical ways to implement PRS in various contextualized settings will also be discussed, and special fellowship time will be provided to connect with one another.

The retreat will begin on Tuesday, March 19th at 5pm at the foundation office and end at 2pm on the 22nd.

Hotel lodging will be provided at a nearby hotel for 3 nights starting from Tuesday, March 19th.

Purpose:

• Equip, encourage, and empower our partners to further the PRS Movement
• Deepen theological and historical understanding of PRS
• Fellowship, network, and share PRS/JSU resources (slides, curriculum, book recommendations)

Desired Outcome:

• Key organizations and their leaders become better practitioners and multipliers of PRS/JSU gatherings
• Our partners start, strengthen, and grow PRS/JSU gatherings

Target Audience:

• Executive and senior leadership from our partner organizations responsible for overseeing and managing PRS/JSU gatherings
• Preferably non-advancement or donor relations personnel
• Those who are aware of or active participants in PRS/JSU
• Those who can eventually teach and equip others to start PRS/JSU
