Why Do PRS?
Through PRS, Bible listening (reading) is more successful, sustainable, and enjoyable.
Revelation 1:3 (ESV) Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.
Why Read and Listen to the Bible?
The Bible, God’s Word, is spiritual food. God uses His Word to equip His people to do His will.
Deuteronomy 8:3 (NKJV) So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. (Jesus quotes this verse in Matthew 4:4)
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
3 Steps for Successful Bible Listening (Reading)
Step 1. Belong to a PRS Group
Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NKJV) Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Luke 4:16 (NKJV) So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
Step 2. Set a One or Two-Year Goal
Deuteronomy 8:3 (NKJV) ... He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.
Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) But He answered and said, “It is written,‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouthof God.’ ” (Jesus quoting Deuteronomy 8:3)
Step 3. Track and Share It
Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
1 Timothy 4:15 (ESV) Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress.
